About this Book:

Everyone knows who Mother Teresa is, but do they know the story of her life? This beautifully illustrated book tells the story of the saint of Calcutta in an engaging narrative for children ages 8 to 10. Starting with her early life as a devout young girl growing up in Albania, the book follows Mother Teresa's journey through religious life, her founding of the Missionaries of Charity, and her unceasing dedication to the poor. With each story, children will see how Mother Teresa committed herself to follow God's will. Her story also inspires children to advocate for the poor and suffering around them.

With text written and illustrations designed specifically for this age group, the book succeeds in captivating second-, third-, and fourth-grade readers with an intriguing true story and warm visuals. The story of the saint of Calcutta is more than a biography of Mother Teresa; it stirs a sense of social justice and encourages children to live a life of humble sanctity.

Katherine Bogner says...
Part of a awesome new series of picture books for older Catholic kids, beginning with Jesus and Mary, this biography of St. Teresa of Calcutta is just lovely. Still organized by chapters but containing full page illustrations, this would be a great beginning biography book for 2nd or 3rd graders, or a perfect quick read for my 5th graders. I love the photographic/sketch style of the illustrations which often are from a unique perspective point and really capture the emotion of Mother Teresas prayer and work. There are a few two page spreads with no text, moving the story along with pictures. Little details like page borders that match the sisters saris are thoughtful and eye catching. Im grateful for the variety this book adds to my classroom Saint book collection. Pauline Books & Media provided me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
