About this Book:

The Shoujo-Manga style graphic novel opens with a young Teresa running away from her home in Spain to convert the Moors and be a martyr for God. As she gets older, Teresa continues to be a troublemaker for her family, this time placing social life and status before her relationship with God. Her father and older sister send her to study with the Carmelite nuns in the hope that she will learn obedience and discipline. When Teresa comes home from the convent, they realize that they have received more than they had bargained for: Teresa had heard Jesus' call to follow him. She was ready to leave home so that she could do his work as a Carmelite sister.

Age 10 daughter enjoyed it a lot, and I did too. It has the appeal of the initial lifestyle of "pretty princess" with nice dresses and houses and young ladi s in the pictures, but then shows the spiritual development of leaving worldliness for Gods way. The artwork in it is very nice.

Erin says...
My 8 year old daughter adores thus book. She read it in one sitting then asked me to find more like it. She re-reads it frequently! It presents St Teresa in a fantastic way, makes her seem like she was "cool", to quote my daughter. I really think any young girl would enjoy this. It is fantastic.

My 6 year old daughter LOVED this book. Shes going through a graphic novel phase and particularly loves the illustrations. She has read it at least six times already, and my favorite part is that while she thinks shes reading comics, shes really being catechized! We cant wait to see more like it!
